Finance Assistant
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a part-time (2 days per week) financial support professional who is driven by accuracy, accountability, and a genuine desire to support a growing business that cares deeply about people. You are someone who loves order, takes pride in getting the details right, and understands that behind every great client and employee experience is a strong financial and administrative foundation.
You are organized, dependable, and calm under pressure. You enjoy working with numbers, systems, processes, and documentation, and you know how to balance speed with precision in a fast-paced environment. You are the kind of person who notices discrepancies, asks thoughtful questions, and follows through until things are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
You bring a high level of discretion and professionalism to your work. You understand the importance of confidentiality when handling payroll, employee information, financial records, and client billing. You are trustworthy, grounded, and ethical, with a “get it right the first time” mentality and a commitment to maintaining clear digital records and strong process discipline.
You are also someone who enjoys being part of a team. While this is a finance and administrative support role, your work has a direct impact on caregivers, clients, leaders, and the health of the business overall. You understand that accurate payroll, timely invoicing, organized receivables and payables, and reliable reporting all help Hero Home Care continue creating happy humans and healthy communities.
You thrive in an in-office environment where collaboration, responsiveness, and care matter. You are not just looking for a job where you check boxes. You want to contribute to a growing organization, improve processes where needed, and be part of a company that values excellence, heart, and doing things the right way.
Role Deliverables:
This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of Hero Home Care with a strong focus on invoicing, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, month end processes tasks and support, compliance, and process documentation. You will play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping ensure the financial side of the business runs accurately, smoothly, and on time.
You will support semi-monthly and monthly invoicing processes for both private clients and third-party funding sources, helping ensure billing is accurate, well documented, and submitted on time. You will investigate discrepancies, support service-based billing accuracy, and help maintain organized workflows that support consistency and reliability.
You will also support bi-weekly payroll for casual caregivers, helping ensure payroll data is accurate, files are properly prepared, payroll is processed on time, and employee payroll changes, ROEs, and payroll-related inquiries are handled carefully and professionally. Because our caregivers are at the heart of what we do, payroll accuracy and responsiveness are critical.
In addition, you will assist with the full cycle of accounts receivable and accounts payable, including payment tracking, reconciliations, invoice follow-up, coding, data entry, and payment scheduling. You will help maintain strong digital records, support month-end processes, and ensure financial files and supporting documentation are organized and easy to trace.
This role also contributes to financial process improvement, helping identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and keep “how-to” documentation current and useful. As Hero continues to grow, this role will help strengthen the systems and structure needed to support that growth well.
